Fiatalok a Változásért Egyesület (Youth Change Makers Association) was established in 2024 in Budapest, Hungary, with a strong commitment to addressing the growing environmental issues of our time. As a community-focused organization, we believe that sustainable change begins with raising awareness, sharing knowledge, and inspiring action at a grassroots level. Our primary mission is to promote environmental conservation and empower individuals—especially young people—to take meaningful steps toward building a sustainable and eco-friendly future.

At Fiatalok a Változásért Egyesület, we are dedicated to bridging the gap between environmental awareness and tangible action. We seek to inspire a deep connection with nature and equip individuals with practical tools and knowledge for sustainable living. Our initiatives emphasize the importance of environmental health, sustainable practices, and the role of each individual in creating positive change. By empowering youth and local communities, we aim to foster a society that prioritizes environmental sustainability and cares for the well-being of our planet.

 

What We Do

 

Our association organizes a range of community-driven projects and events that focus on education, hands-on experience, and active participation:

• Green Budapest Workshops: This series brings together residents and students for interactive sessions that teach sustainable practices, from composting and energy conservation to reducing personal carbon footprints. These workshops are designed to be both informative and practical, showing how small lifestyle changes—like reducing waste, using reusable materials, and choosing eco-friendly transportation—can make a collective impact on the environment.

• Nature Walks: In partnership with local environmental experts, we lead educational nature walks in Budapest’s green areas, such as Normafa and Margitsziget. These guided tours allow participants to learn about local biodiversity, understand the ecological balance, and explore the threats posed by urbanization. By identifying native species and discussing the role of local flora and fauna, attendees gain a deeper appreciation for the natural world and its significance in sustaining our ecosystem.

• Clean-up Days: Our clean-up events, held regularly in parks, riversides, and public spaces, invite community members to take part in restoring and maintaining the cleanliness of these shared areas. Clean-up Days not only improve local environments but also show participants that every action, no matter how small, contributes to the health of the planet.

• Educational Webinars: To reach a broader audience, we host webinars like "Climate Change and Urban Sustainability," where we discuss topics such as green infrastructure, renewable energy, and sustainable mobility. These sessions encourage participants to think critically about how individual and community efforts can help address climate challenges, from reducing energy consumption to supporting local environmental policies.
